RobinGood wins latest Alantra ScaleUp programme
Artisanal snacks company RobinGood has emerged as the winner of the latest Alantra ScaleUp programme, a pro bono initiative for companies with high growth potential.
Now in its sixth edition, the programme sees 36 Alantra professionals offering financial and strategic advice to companies with high growth potential to prepare for their first rounds of institutional financing.
The three-participating scale-ups were RobinGood, Cheerfy, and Ladorian. Over the last six months, the founders took part in eight working sessions with Alantra professionals, covering the investment thesis, the business and financial model, and the type of investor to target. The programme ends with a presentation to an Alantra Partners Committee, which makes the final contributions to the financing round and can also make a supporting investment in the winning project - which they did for this year’s winner, RobinGood.
Spain-based RobinGood is a company with a high social impact that produces and distributes artisanal snacks made by people at risk of social exclusion. The B-Corp certified company aims to drive the transition to a healthier way of snacking, while promoting the employment of vulnerable groups and universalising the consumption of “social” products. Luis Font, founder of RobinGood, said in a statement: “During these past few months, the Alantra team have helped us to structure and define the investment strategy and to understand that the scalability and profitability of our business model are the keys to achieving greater social impact.”
Also based in Spain, Ladorian is a data-driven recommendation engine that leverages offline data to communicate with buyers at the point of sale. UK startup Cheerfy is a customer loyalty platform and sales channel for large restaurant brands, aiming to offer a complete digital restaurant experience (including sales, CRM and digital marketing) in a single platform.
